Highfield Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid at Work

Course Overview

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and it meets the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Valid for 3 years.

Course Modules

The course comprises of the following Modules:

The roles and responsibilities of a first-aider

Assessing an emergency situation safety

CPR and AED

Administering first aid to a choking infant or child

Dealing with shock, scolds, bleeds, bites, stings and minor injuries

Providing first aid to an infant or a child with anaphylaxis

Dealing with casualties with fractures, and spinal or head injuries

Duration

2 days  (Guided Learning Hours 12 hours)

This course is delivered in person at our training centre at Scarlet Court, Dafen, Llanelli
